This is probably our best choice for fishing a variety of fly sizes, whether fishing floating lines or sink-tips. You can cast up to a 450-grain Skagit line plus floating or sinking tip with this rod. Most anglers will find it easy to cast single-handed. It's a really nice big water, big trout rod, but is an exceptional small river steelhead rod. It casts well in light wind and gives you excellent mending qualities. When the steelhead get spooky and you need to go to lighter, longer leaders, this is the rod you'll want in your hands. It's a good choice for coneheads and other heavily weighted flies.
