From lightweight trout reels to powerful freshwater and saltwater designs, Gorge Fly Shop carries trusted fly reels for a wide range of fishing styles and destinations.

Start by matching the reel to your rod and fly line weight, then consider the fish and water you plan to pursue. Trout reels can remain light and simple, while steelhead, salmon, and saltwater reels often benefit from greater backing capacity, stronger drag systems, and durable construction.

Arbor size, reel weight, backing capacity, and drag performance all matter. A properly matched reel should balance comfortably with your rod, hold the appropriate line and backing, and provide the drag performance needed for the fish you are targeting.

Since 1992, our team has helped anglers match fly reels with the right rods and lines. Whether you are building your first outfit, upgrading a favorite setup, or preparing for a destination trip, we are here to help you find the right reel.
