Product Details

RIO’s new GripShooter is based on the very popular SlickShooter, but has a thick, coated handling section that makes it very easy to grip in cold conditions. The thin nylon shooting line gives casters maximum distance, is light enough to hold off the water at range and allows anglers great control of their head and fly far out in the swing. A neat 8” welded loop at the front end allows for fast and efficient head changes.

Features -
  • Thick, highly visible handling section for grip, durability and visibility
  • Front 8" Welded Loop

"A great winter shooting line, with some sacrifices"

on 12/2/2015 2:36:47 PM

Review (Tell us Why?: This hybrid is a great transition for newbies used to handling fly lines and it is really nice in frigid winter conditions where the coated section is easier to hold on to, especially with gloves. The downside is the extra friction caused by the coated section and the subsequent loss of line speed. If you need big distance, or aren't fishing with gloves go with slickhooter or OPST.
