Abel Super Series Reels are in a class of their own with so many Colors, Graphics and options to choose from one can personalize a reel for themselves or create that ultimate gift of a lifetime reel for someone you know. The Abel Super Series originally started life as the Abel Big Game reels and quickly built a reputation for being solid and reliable. Over time they have evolved into what we know today as the Super Series Large Arbor reels. Still as solid and reliable as ever, but lighter, larger arbors and color options are just a few of the choices one can ponder over while building that one of a kind heirloom. Finishes – All Abel Reels come in many available finishes. Standard is Black and Black Matte. Also available is many different solid color finishes, (see image for details), But the true enthusiasts will want one of the many fish graphics available. Fish Graphic reels are real pieces of art. Solid Colors and Fish Graphics options are generally special order and built to order by Abel Reels so expect a little wait time for that one of a kind finish. (Quick Note - Abel fish graphics generally look best on solid frames) Features - -
Reel frame, spool, drag knob and foot are 6061-T651 cold finished aerospace grade aluminum. -
Teflon sealed bearings are ISO9001:2000 and AS9100 Certified FAA TSO C149 Aircraft Bearings. -
Cork Drag System is made entirely in our factory. We use a superior high grade Portuguese cork with a little neat’s-foot oil on it. -
Double Pawl System: Super Series reel sizes 6 and larger are built with our recently upgraded double pawl system. Advantages include: increased reliability, back-up strength and unique sound. -
FlexABELity: Interchange both Large Arbor and Standard Arbor spools. -
