Review: I wanted to fish a Scandi Line on my OPST Pure Skagit 11' 7wt rod and I wanted a better option than adding a floating tip to the Commando Head. I also needed it to be somewhat shorter than the standard Scandi lines out there. I tried the RIO Scandi Body #6 and #6/7 combined with a straight 10' Polyleader/Versileader with a skated dry fly and it worked beautifully. Cast and turned over the flies really well and was very easy to cast. Loved it! The RIO Scandi Body is now my GO TO Scandi for this rod! The recommended OPST Commando head grain weight for this rod is 300-325gr and I highly recommend that you use the same gr window for the Scandi Body. I used the RIO Scandi Body #6 (305gr) and the #6/7 (325gr) and again, they worked AWESOME! If you want to use this rod Scandi style give the RIO Scandi Body a toss.

Review: Got the 11' 7wt OPST Pure Skagit rod the other day and I'm pleaseantly pleased with it. It is super light weight in my hand and cast awesome with the OPST Commando 350 gr head and 325 gr Commando Groove head. This will be a perfect addition to my arsenal and absolutely perfect for smaller steelhead and salmon. A blast to cast, seems lighter than my other 7wt rods but still has enough power to cast T-8 & T-11.
