Like the "Standard" CF Burkheimer 489-4 Trout Rod, the DAL (Deep Action Load) Trout Rod is equally stunning but with a deeper flex in the rod. Paired with the right line, this translates into more rod flex, making it easier to feel the load, and as a side effect making your cast smooth and effortless. Don't be fooled by the DAL label, it is not a slow action rod. The DAL shines if fishing light tippets and smaller flies.

The 489-4 DAL Vintage blends Burkheimer’s classic craftsmanship with a Deep Action Load that bends deeper for feel, timing, and buttery roll casts. At 8'9" in a true 4-weight, it’s a dream for dry flies, emergers, and soft-hackle swings yet still has the spine for light nymphs. Hand-built in the PNW with Vintage cosmetics.
