Review: I had just purchased a GL Asquith in an 8wt but wanted to get something much lighter for Searun Cutthroat. I didn't have the budget to get top of the line, so I checked out some other reviews and settled on the Claymore. Man! I made the right decision. This rod feels like butter when swaying through the wind. It feels very light in my hands and sends flies flying with an effortless motion. Now, I KNOW, John at Gorge Fly Shop had a lot to do with this as he shared his wisdom from experience on which lines would work best for my situation. I trust John and Travis to provide their opinions and suggestions for the proper set up. Gorge Fly Shop is my choice for getting the proper equipment for the environment I'll be fishing in. Also, their customer service is top notch. Trust me, I was a pain at times, changing my mind, or being curious about something else. They NEVER waivered and treated me as a valued customer. Not many places are like this. Lyndsey, Patti and Karrie were all a pleasure to deal with. For the money spent, I'm giving this a 5. I'm sure I could've spent another $1K and bought a nicer rod. For the money, I don't think I could've done better.
