Review: Pretty much the perfect rod for UL euro nymphing on medium or smaller rivers. The design and feel are exceptional. This is the current new gold standard. It exceeds the first two generations but feels soft and responsive but isn’t truly comparable to prior models. The solid tip is new for American rods. I had switched over to Hardy and even Soldarini (solid tip option) but this rod does it all. It may not be ideal for everyone but it’s fantastic for both the avid beginner or the veteran competitor. I have compared notes with other anglers and I think the excitement is real for at least this 10’8”#2 model . I think it’s probably best for UL euro leaders (4X and less). It’s not just a paint it black upgrade. These are different rods than their predecessors and they seem to have set a new standard of performance and sensitivity in this class.
