The Thomas & Thomas Contact III+ Euro Nymph Rod Series represents the next evolution of one of the most respected tight-line rods ever built. Completely redesigned from the ground up, the Contact III+ builds on the legendary performance of the Contact II while introducing a new proprietary composite material that delivers a 100% pure carbon blank that is lighter, slimmer, and faster recovering than previous generations.

The reduced blank diameter cuts through wind more efficiently and decreases air resistance during casting, resulting in longer, more accurate presentations with less effort. Improved blank damping virtually eliminates tip bounce, allowing anglers to maintain instant connection to their flies and detect the most subtle takes.

Modern tight-line techniques demand versatility, and the Contact III+ is engineered to excel across the full spectrum—from micro leaders and tiny nymphs to dry-dropper rigs and jig streamers. All models except 1086-4 include two interchangeable tips: a traditional tubular tip for heavier flies and line control, and a highly sensitive solid carbon tip designed for maximum strike detection and tippet protection when fishing ultra-light rigs.

Select models are tuned for specific techniques. The 10'0" 2- and 10'9" 2-weight rods excel with delicate presentations and small flies, while the new 11'5" 3-weight replaces the former 1123 model, providing extended reach and exceptional sensitivity for long-line Euro nymphing and competitive fishing scenarios.

Premium finishes complete the package, including Flor-grade cork grips, matte black hardware with dual locking nuts, lightweight gunmetal guides, and T&T's signature threadwork. With its refined materials, dual-tip system, and unmatched sensitivity, the Contact III+ sets a new benchmark for modern tight-line fly fishing performance.

*With the exception of the 6-weight, all Contact III+ models are supplied with two interchangeable tips: a traditional tubular tip and a new solid carbon tip. This dual-tip configuration not only provides a spare but also expands performance versatility.

• All models except the Contact III+ 1086 (6wt) will come with two tips, one tubular tip and one solid tip.
• Premium Flor grade cork grips with 1/4" composite nose increases feel and bite transmission.
• Matte black downlocking hardware updated with two locking nuts, complemented with T&T's trademark roll stamped logo and burled wood spacer. 
• Gunmetal light wire single-foot running guides, with one nickel titanium bendable snake guide under the tip top to reduce line wrap.
• On 10' 9" and 11'5" models, the guide sizing has been reduced to increase line control. The added number of guides on the rod reduce line sag. The 10' models have appropriately sized guides for weight forward fly lines.
• Black double-foot high-frame stripping guide provides a more acute angle from stripping guide to reel to reduce drag when the rod is under load. The stripping guide has been further lowered on the rod in order to reduce line sag.

• Contact III+ 1086 has a full wells grip and full metal black reel seat, this rod does not come with solid tip. This rod is primarily designed for migratory fish.
